As I was thinking of the vanity of human things, through the spectacle which the two men, whose followers appreciated the friendship which seemed as natural as it was solid, had just offered us; it came to mind that the Most Blessed Virgin’s opinion to a holy bishop:

“Because I love you, you will be punished for that”*

For now, let’s remember that on December 12, 2019 TM had found no other video to offer but an eye-catching title of the genre «Has the image of the Guadalupe been retouched?» ** Obviously he said no, but obviously the effect had made an impression. How many turned off their screen with the idea of a retouched Guadalupe?

TG, for his part, had chosen to give the floor to a couple of Mex-American academics whose thesis  (I who underline) relentlessly distilled the sense of vanity of  both the Spanish colonization and the appearance of Guadalupe. We learned that Mexico was then inhabited by superior intelligent and civilized tribes, having already received a sort of revelation from God (another after the Hebrews? before?) and that they would have done well without the Evangelization**. Because finally the arrival of the Spanish inspired the peoples constantly « solicited » by the Aztecs to invent this legend of human sacrifices in order to designate them as targets to the Spaniards who would get to rid of them.  The Guadalupe was wrong to help them, the Spaniards.

To counter any dubious/unpleasant comments the producer had posted that they were “committed Catholics”, that they loved the Church etc…

That the work of these academics placed doubt and destroyed any impulse of love and trust towards the Guadalupe did not seem to have touched the spirit of those who invited them. This was science speaking.

There was no malice either in TM or TG, except for this human respect that makes us ashamed to put a knee -worse the 2- down before the Mother of God, however. Because their audience – like them Sci-Fi generation- would find such an expression of piety ridiculous and outdated. Didn’t Mikal make a fool of David for dancing in front of the Ark?

If there is a precious asset to which we are entitled and to which we are all strongly attached, it is our reputation.  Already on earth we are quick to defend it even when it is we who damage it.

What can we say about heaven! Where one enters only with an intact reputation, what jealous and powerful care does one have for his reputation?  The sweetest of saints will avenge severely his reputation under attack.

You wait for her, she makes you feel the effect, she the Mother of God in her Son.

And as she loves you, the Mother of the divine Grace, Mother very pure and Mother without task, when you will have publicly repaired, (the offense was) she will make all white to you this reputation of yours that you have just tarnished yesterday, like two boatmen feathered out of an tavern. [who want to be held back from doing harm, when none is violent] ---Laughters.

My humble advice? Be humble. Truth himself his humble and mild.

The FSSPX affaire is just a mean for Her. She will admirably fix everything as soon as you amend yourselves.

** From all eternity and everywhere man has always served gods. There existed in Mexico a class of priests but even their most honorable "Mother Goddess" was a pagan divinity. At the foot of the Cross stood the August and Pure Virgin-Mothe of God, not the Mother Goddess. The coming of Our Lady of Guadalupe represented a significant vertical rise for the peoples of America and not just a lateral change of latitude.

Eucharistic fast

You have to fast according to your metabolism. Some are prone to discomfort and other hypoglycemias. God sees everything let's not forget that. As a faster of the preceding night, I do not condemn those who take liquid.

A traditional priest told me that "It is an act of correction, of deference aimed at not mixing the Holy Body with our digestion" But the liquid does not last in the stomach. The Lord will appreciate our zeal not to take anything since the day before, but who drinks liquid (except alcohol) does not sin. The Church is a mother who makes things easier… to the point that we are inexcusable (as Saint Paul says)

In the same way the fast of Lent, are not held there certainly pregnant or nursing women but still children under 6 years, and the elderly. If they fast by themselves they do not sin. However, we must avoid exposing our health. The advice of a «pious and enlightened» doctor will be necessary. Workers -hard-hewers, porters, building - are exempt from fasting. This is not the case of other workers-silversmiths, shoemakers, tailors. The travellers would have so many precautions and calculations to do to follow a fast, that the Church dispenses them from it.

If the Triune God is not mistaken or deceiving us, neither is his mystical wife: the Holy Church has planned everything and one could say “that the laws of the Church are more favourable to those who willingly commit themselves in the case of transgressing them by excesses which it reproves, than to those who stand in the moderation which it recommends”.

Matter must be subject to the soul. Eating little, avoiding re-serving is more arduous and meritorious than 15 days of fasting. (personal reflection)

Let us not forget that God prefers the daily (saving) meditation of his Son’s Passion to a fast of a whole year. So the spirit must prevail over the letter.

Il s’agit d’un acte de correction, de déférence visant à ne pas mêler le Saint Corps à notre digestion. Or le liquide ne dure pas dans l’estomac. Le Seigneur appréciera notre zèle de ne rien prendre depuis la veille, mais qui boit du liquide (sauf alcool) ne pèche pas. L’Église est une mère qui nous facilite les choses….au point que nous sommes inexcusables (comme dit Saint Paul)

De même le jeûne du Carême, n’y sont pas tenues certes les femmes enceintes ou qui allaitent mais encore les enfants de moins de 6 ans, et les vieillards. S’ils jeûnent d’eux-mêmes ils ne pèchent pas. Il faut cependant éviter d’exposer sa santé. Les avis d’un médecin « pieux et éclairé » seront nécessaires. Les ouvriers -du dur- tailleurs de pierre, porteurs, bâtiment – sont exemptés du jeûne. Ce n’est pas le cas d’autres ouvriers -orfèvres, cordonniers, tailleurs de vêtement. Les voyageurs auraient tant de précautions et calculs à faire pour suivre un jeûne, que L’Église les en dispense.

Si le Dieu-Trine ne se trompe ni ne nous trompe, son épouse mystique non plus : la sainte Église a tout prévu et on pourrait dire « que les lois de l’Église sont plus favorables à ceux qui se mettent volontairement dans le cas de les transgresser par des excès qu’elle réprouve, qu’à ceux qui se tiennent dans la modération qu’elle recommande »

La matière doit être assujettie à l’âme. Manger peu, éviter de se resservir est plus ardu et méritoire que 15 jours de jeûne. (réflexion personnelle)

N’oublions pas que le Bon Dieu préfère la (salvatrice) méditation quotidienne de la Passion de son Fils à un jeûne d’une année entière. Tant l’esprit doit prédominer sur la lettre.
